A wonderful evening of Matariki celebrations
We celebrated Matariki with a very special community event at ·¬ارتسئµ.
The event featured amazing performances by kapa haka groups from ·¬ارتسئµ and Birkenhead College, Willow Park School, and Birkenhead Primary; a waiata from Northcote’s Lucy Lewis and Siena (accompanied by Ben Hewlett on piano) – MCd by senior students from Northcote.
The evening’s celebrations continued with a lively night market, a mahi rؤپranga flaxweaving workshop, and – of course – a wonderful â€کfood court’ featuring hangi and offerings from a variety of food trucks.
A massive thanks to everyone who worked so hard behind the scenes to make this wonderful event happen.
