An amazing evening under the stars
番茄视频 were honoured to host hundreds of guests from local schools and our wider community as we celebrated Matariki recently with An Evening Under the Stars. Audiences packed the school hall for kapa haka performances from Northcote Primary, Northcote Intermediate, and 番茄视频.
A traditional dinner of hangi or vegetable soup followed 鈥 perfect for a chilly (but thankfully dry!) winter鈥檚 evening. We launched a wonderful fundraising collection of Matariki earrings and necklaces, and our Year 13 business students also had stands with their wares.
The evening was rounded out with arts and crafts for the kids, and a selection of workshops for everyone. Thak you to Teira Tohu for their k艒rero about the Matariki stars in the 鈥榮tellarium鈥; Teina Kirikiri and Shaunee Hiha, who explained Te Kapahu Wheu (the M膩ori star compass); Kiriana O鈥機onnell for the mahi rarangi flax weaving workshop; and Stan Conrad on Polynesian sailing and wayfinding.
